The master’s degree program with a major in special education is designed for persons who plan to be involved in the education of students with disabilities. Admission to a program leading to a doctoral degree requires completion of a level of education comparable to a four-year U.S. bachelor’s degree. Other English Language Requirements accepted: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum average score of 550, no sub score below 52 on Paper-based test (PBT); Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) minimum average score of 83, no sub score below 80; MSU English Language Test (MSUELT) Minimum average score of 80 to 84, no subscore below 80; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE A): Minimum Overall Score of 53; no sub score below 51 for reading, listening, and speaking; no writing sub score below 59.
