Enrollment in the joint J.D./M.S. in Finance program enables a student to obtain a J.D. degree from Chicago-Kent and an M.S. degree from Illinois Tech’s Stuart School of Business in approximately three-and-a-half to four years of full-time study or five to six years of part-time study. The program is designed to prepare students for careers in the legal profession with an emphasis on finance.
Eligibility and Requirements
Joint Program students may apply up to 12 credits of M.S. coursework taken at Illinois Tech toward the requirements for the J.D. degree. No credit may be applied toward the J.D. degree for courses completed prior to the commencement of law studies. To receive J.D. credit for a course, the student must earn at least a C grade in the course. The M.S. course grades will not count in the student's J.D. grade point average. Students should work with their Stuart Graduate Academic Advisor on their program of study and for information about applying certain J.D. courses toward the M.S. degree.
