The Doctoral Program in Feminist and Gender Studies is a new title since it does not represent a continuity of the master's degrees and doctorates that previously existed. For the Complutense University it is of great importance to develop its own Third Cycle line in Feminist and Gender studies, since it has been a pioneer in this area of study and receives many students from other countries who are interested in this type of research. Many of the professionals who hold positions in both public and private institutions that develop gender policies have been trained in our institution, which is why this degree has a strategic nature within the Complutense University. The doctoral program will be developed by professors belonging to more than 15 departments of our University, and has around forty professors who come from different areas such as History, Philosophy, Information Theory, Anthropology, the different Sciences of Education, Psychology, Sociology, etc. Therefore, the program is intrinsically multidisciplinary. By way of example, various fields can be cited in which concepts and tools from different disciplines with a gender perspective are naturally used, such as Semiotics, History, Philosophy, Anthropology, Psychology, Research Methodology in Social Sciences, Discourse Analysis, the analysis of Art and the interpretation of Cultures, etc.
