Illinois Tech’s Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering/Master of Science in Biology for the Health Professions accelerated master's degree program allows students the unique opportunity to pursue advanced studies in biology to improve the competitiveness for students looking to enter medical, dental, pharmaceutical, or optometry school while completing both degrees in as few as five years.
Students will learn to apply the principles and tools of traditional engineering fields with chemical, physical, and biological sciences, specifically those used to acquire advanced training in biology that will prove beneficial within health professions. Students applying to the Accelerated Master’s Program must have completed at least 60 credit hours with at least one full semester (12 credit hours) of applicable undergraduate study at the university.
Students must be at least one full semester (12 credit hours) away from undergraduate degree completion in order to apply.
Applicants are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; however, please consult individual departments for specific minimum GPA requirements.
