The Bio Resource Research Program in the College of Agricultural Sciences provides research-based, interdisciplinary education, in conjunction with a rigorous biosciences curriculum and opportunities for experiential learning and professional development, in fields related to biological resources, agriculture, and environmental, food and health sciences. Our graduates can contribute successfully to their future career fields or graduate programs, and think critically to help solve the world’s bio resource-related problems. Students can choose any one of the following option: Plant Growth and Development Plant growth and development involves the study of the control and coordination of processes in cells, organs, and/or whole plants, including, for example, changes in gene expression in response to environmental conditions such as climate change. Students will develop research skills and knowledge about the regulation of plant growth and development, metabolism, structure and function of macromolecules (i.e., enzymes, storage proteins, and nucleic acids), and whole plant physiology, preparing them for agricultural and biosciences positions or graduate programs.
