A degree combining business with law offers a valuable opportunity to understand the legal structures within which businesses operate whilst gaining valuable business knowledge and skills. This business programme covers people management, finance, marketing, business environment, strategy, as well as business and company law. Whilst this is not a qualifying law degree it will give you a significant insight into law that will help you differentiate yourself in a very competitive market place. It is suitable for individuals aiming for a career in business but also offers an advantage to those students wanting management roles within the legal sector, where such knowledge would be highly valued. We also offer a four-year placement route where you have the opportunity to spend your third year on industrial placement or studying overseas, after which you will return to study for your final year. Teaching takes place at our award-winning Business School in Manchester city centre. There are opportunities to participate in business and enterprise competitions and receive support and advice from successful entrepreneurs and business consultants. You can choose to specialise in a particular business discipline in your final year, such as human resource management, entrepreneurship, marketing, legal studies or financial management. You will be supported by friendly and approachable staff. We take an innovative approach to teaching methods and use online resources, podcasting and video links. The Faculty of Business and Law hosts two Professional Development Weeks annually. Free and open to all students, this includes a festival of skills-development activities, practical support in developing your CV and employability skills, and the opportunity to network with actively recruiting graduate employers.
