The anthropology BA prepares students for careers in archaeology, applied cultural anthropology, and biological anthropology. Students develop cross-cultural competency and applied skills in a dynamic curriculum emphasizing real-world and laboratory education. Our graduates make a difference in the world!

At UTA, we are a small, student-oriented program with a diverse faculty. Through smaller class sizes, our majors have greater access to instructors and get higher-quality mentorship in career development. After completing courses in the foundations of anthropology (Global Cultures, Archaeology, and Biological Anthropology), students have the flexibility to focus on the subjects that inspire them. The department offers method and theory courses tailored to each student’s career trajectory. A flexible foreign language requirement prepares students for cross-cultural experiences here and abroad. Multiple field schools, study abroad, and undergraduate research opportunities give students unique educational experiences valued by both employers and graduate programs.
