Applicants for this course should have achieved a UK Good II.i Honours Degree.

The MRC Epidemiology Unit offers a three-year PhD programme for those students who already have a master's degree or equivalent training in an appropriate scientific discipline. Opportunities also exist for four-year positions for those wishing to undertake the MPhil in Population Health Sciences course in the first year of their studentship.  The academic requirement for entry is that students undertaking the MPhil in Population Health Sciences in Cambridge should pass the course at their first attempt (i.e. not require a viva) .  Note that applicants who apply to take the MPhil course as a precursor to the PhD must pass the MPhil and make a separate application to continue to the PhD (i.e. continuation is not automatic).
