The Doctoral Program in Agribusiness at UPN "Veteran" East Java stands out as the pioneering and only Agribusiness doctoral program in Surabaya. This program, exclusive to the Faculty of Agriculture at UPN "Veteran" East Java, marks a significant milestone in the university's history. Initiated in 2019 and officially launched in 2020, it aims to foster new scientific theories and contribute significantly to the advancement and application of knowledge in the agribusiness sector. Indonesia's vast natural wealth in both quantity and biodiversity positions it as one of the world's megadiverse countries. However, the full potential of this wealth has yet to be optimally harnessed due to a lack of human resources skilled in agricultural science and technology (IPTEK) development. The Doctoral Program in Agribusiness is designed to address this gap, aspiring to produce academics proficient in advancing IPTEK through systematic and programmed research activities, ultimately applying these advancements for societal and national welfare. The program emphasizes a curriculum and research process that prepares graduates to be adaptable, forward-thinking, and in constant pursuit of scientific and technological progress. Since its inception, the Doctoral Program in Agribusiness at UPN "Veteran" East Java has been accepting new students through an independent examination system managed by the Institute for Learning Development and Quality Assurance (LP3M).
