The Development Economics Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, UPNV East Java, was established in 1974 with permission from the Department of Defense and Security (Dephankam) under the status of "State Civil". This occurred because at that time, UPN "Veteran" East Java was a state institution under the management of the Department of Defense and Security. In 1994, based on the Joint Decree of the Minister of Education and the Minister of Defense and Security Number: Kep/0307/U/1994-10/XI/1994 dated November 29, 1994, regarding the Improvement of UPN "Veteran" East Java through the Implementation of Relevance and Parity, the status of UPN "Veteran" changed from a State Institution to a Private Institution. In 2003, the Development Economics Program was first accredited by BAN PT Depdiknas and obtained a Grade B. The accreditation process and status of the Study Program were obtained on November 13, 2008, with accreditation validity until November 13, 2013, with Decree Letter BAN-PT No. 029/BAN-PT/AK-XI/S1/XI/2008 with a grade of "B". The latest accreditation was on May 23, 2017, with Decree Letter No. 1530/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/V/2017 with a grade of "A". This latest accreditation is valid until May 23, 2022. In 2021, the Development Economics Study Program received international recognition in the form of FIBAA International Accreditation, valid until 2026. Since 2005, the Development Economics Study Program has developed three concentrations/interests, namely 1) Regional Development Planning Concentration; 2) Monetary and Banking Concentration; and 3) Investment and International Trade. The implementation of these three concentrations remains based on the vision, mission, objectives, and targets intended by the Development Economics Study Program. The vision and mission of the Study Program are derived from the vision and mission of UPN "Veteran" East Java and the Faculty of Economics and Business. Therefore, the management of the study program is based on hard work, professionalism, trustworthiness, and upholding academic ethics.
