The general objective of the Industrial Design Academic Program is to train sensitive professionals with a social, economic, and productive reality, with a great capacity to transform an inadequate current state of disciplinary conceptions around the use, interaction, and production of material culture, through the implementation of methodological processes of investigation, analysis and creation, which aim to give complex responses to situated needs, through their social, ethical and aesthetic sensitivity, in dialogue with their circumstances and the configuration of a systemic, fundamentally transdisciplinary look. The industrial designer of the Universidad del Valle is a professional trained to: Understand and contribute to the solution of contemporary problems in the environmental, economic, productive, social and cultural fields, from the perspective of industrial design in their work context , both locally, nationally and internationally and also to understand the impacts of industrial design solutions and the ethical aspects associated with the exercise of the profession and its responsible action in society. The industrial designer at Universidad el Valle will have the necessary training to plan, direct, undertake and execute industrial design projects from research to execution and implementation.
