The Department of Electrical Engineering at Umm Al-Qura University was established in the year 1406 AH/1986 AD, within the College of Applied and Engineering Sciences, under the name of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Then the department joined the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture, which was established in the year 1408 AH/1988 AD. The Computer Engineering Division became an independent department at the beginning of the first half of the academic year 1421 AH / 2001 AD, so that the department’s name became “Electrical Engineering Department.” The department includes 27 full-time faculty members, specializing in research fields in energy systems, wireless communications, control systems, digital signal processing, electronics, and electromagnetism. The department's newly equipped laboratories provide students with practical experience in the design and analysis of electrical engineering systems. The Electrical Engineering Program is subject to periodic evaluation of its curricula, and is committed to continuous improvement through evaluation and evaluation processes that include all its components. Students are adequately prepared to join the engineering practice, equipped with the necessary skills; Such as communication skills, ethics, lifelong learning, and effective teamwork skills.
