Medical Microbiology (Master)
Umm Al-Qura University’s strategic location is distinguished by its presence in the heart of the Islamic world in Mecca, which annually hosts more than two million pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims, in a gathering that is considered the largest and most crowded in the world, and in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to improve the quality of life, and to achieve the vision of Umm Al-Qura University. Al-Qura, aiming to improve the Hajj and Umrah experience, has opened a master’s program in medical microorganisms.
The program aims to graduate male and female students who specialize in the field of diagnostic medical microorganisms, so that they are qualified with the knowledge and skill to serve society, and to participate in medical research specializing in medical microorganisms and infectious diseases, to contribute to reducing the spread of epidemics and controlling them.
The program consists of a group of theoretical and practical courses representing 44 credit hours, divided into four semesters, aiming to prepare specialists in medical microbiology, so that all courses (theoretical and practical) are taught in the first year, and then male and female students undergo training. Work in one of the Kingdom’s leading hospitals, or participate in scientific research as a requirement for graduation in their second year of study.
