The MSc by Research in Medical Engineering provides graduates with the opportunity to develop knowledge, understanding and expertise in their chosen field of research, beyond the level of a taught master’s degree, but without the requirement to complete as much novel research as a doctoral student.
Within the College of Engineering world-leading research is conducted in a number of areas, including diagnostic sensors and computational modelling of physiological systems.
Biomedical engineering research at Swansea
Through years of experience, engineers are very well equipped to approach medicine from an entirely different perspective, which can lift medical care to a next level. Our Biomedical engineering research group specialises in the development and application of computational tools to:
  • Improve our understanding of the human physiology
  • Develop advanced diagnostic techniques
  • Optimize the design of medical devices
The engineering research degrees at Swansea University draw on the exciting medical research that is taking place within the College of Engineering and the Swansea University Medical School.
The research success in the two colleges led to the creation of the £22 million Centre for NanoHealth (CNH), a unique facility linking engineering and medicine.
