One of the largest and top-ranking institutions of its kind in Taiwan, the PEHL offers a master’s program leading to careers as educational and health-related specialists, recreational managers, physical education and health-related educators, coaches and researchers. These research- and practice-oriented experiences are provided through its three laboratories: Exercise Physiology, Sports Biomechanics and Recreation and Leisure Studies. Moreover, these centers and laboratories offer numerous opportunities for research with highly cited faculty. The faculty members are ranked among the most productive researchers in Taiwan.

Applicants should have basic Chinese skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Applicants are required to provide Chinese language proficiency certificate. Applicants are required to provide an autobiography in both Chinese and English. The English proficiency certificate is not required for applicants whose previous degree is from an English-speaking country (Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa or the United States of America), but the applicants have to provide their diplomas as proof. All new students are REQUIRED to have a health check-up for university enrollment.

Selected courses taught entirely in English are offered in 27 departments. It has 43 undergraduate programmes, 36 independent graduate institutes and nine degree programmes.
