The Institute of International Management (IIMBA) was established in 1995. The educational mission of the Institute of International Management (IIMBA) is to train students to develop their multicultural international perspective in the process of strengthening professional knowledge, leadership and communication skills.
The four visions are:
1. International vision 2. Professionalism 3. Communication skills 4. Integrity and pragmatism
The Institute is an independent research institute of the School of Management, and the only institute that teaches in English. It recruits international students every spring and autumn, and recruits local students every autumn. In the initial period of establishment, the faculty members came from teachers from various departments and taught relevant courses in English.
Since the 1997 school year, full-time and special project teachers have been hired successively. All the full-time teachers of the Institute have obtained doctoral degrees from first-class universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, and France. Since the 1998 academic year, Taiwan native doctoral students have been recruited in the autumn of each academic year.

NCKU values holistic education, providing creative and lively instruction that combines large- and small-class study and emphasises interdisciplinary learning. Selected courses taught entirely in English are offered in 27 departments. It has 43 undergraduate programmes, 36 independent graduate institutes and nine degree programmes.
