The German studies course at the University of Szeged imparts knowledge of the language, literature, culture and history of the German-speaking countries as well as skills in foreign language communication in various areas of life. The focus of the bachelor's degree is on the tradition and diversity of German-language literature and culture, as well as language change, language comparison and use. During their studies, students are also given the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in various core research areas in linguistic, literary and cultural studies.  
Potential professional fields can be found in cultural and economic areas on the international job market, e.g. in journalism (print media, radio and television), administration of cultural institutions (foundations, museums), organizations of international exchange in the fields of culture and teaching (DAAD, Goethe-Institut ), Advertising and public relations, etc.
