Electrical Engineering Department was established in the College of Engineering in Wadi Al-Dawasir in 1426 AH corresponding to 2005 AD and the study began in the academic year 1430-1431 AH. Electrical engineering is among the most exciting and challenging fields in the fields of engineering. Electrical engineering is a major discipline in technology-dependent societies in a major way. Electrical engineers lead the development of technology through the ability to effectively apply basic concepts while integrating knowledge from various disciplines. And conducting advanced research, creating new ideas, designing and developing new products, many of the products and services now used around the world are based mainly on the work of electrical engineers. Fast, secure and reliable between individuals and between countries, which are some examples of electrical engineers' contribution to human progress. In addition, there are other fields such as economics and business administration that benefit greatly from the contributions of electrical engineers and their additions to the principles of communication, data analysis, and systems simulation and control.
The observer of the fields of electrical engineering notes that its rapid development poses many challenges to electrical engineers at this time. Therefore, the bachelor’s program in electrical engineering at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University has been designed to graduate engineers with diverse skills and abilities ready for employment and able to face the challenges that will meet them in their field of work. The program places a strong emphasis on scientific and engineering foundations with a high degree of flexibility so that it provides a broad and diverse range of educational experiences, allowing students to plan their own educational path according to their career aspirations.
