BS in International Business (BSIB) degree has offered a unique program to undergraduate business students: integrated learning through academic and experiential opportunities. The BSIB Program immerses students in a foreign culture to experience the academic, professional and personal components of the global marketplace. A concentration in accounting aims to prepare the graduate for entry into public accounting or private industry in a highly valued career. Accounting is a dynamic profession that requires people to possess sound technical knowledge, critical thinking skills, superior interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. Accountants hold senior management positions in private companies in business or industry, public accounting firms, and government agencies. To prepare for an accounting career, students take courses in financial reporting, managerial accounting, and intermediate accounting, with additional elective courses available for more specialized studies in strategic cost analysis, auditing and other assurance services, income tax planning, and accounting information systems. Program Goals and Benefits: Within the BSIB Program, students expand cross-cultural awareness, develop proficiency in a foreign language, gain technical competence and professional confidence, increase understanding and experience in international business practices, and acquire unique insights from the experience of living, studying and working abroad.
