The purpose of the program is to train bachelors, highly qualified translators, with professional competencies, who have an understanding of new areas of modern translation studies and meet contemporary employer requirements and needs of society in the field of international and legal relations.
1.To possess all types of speech activity and basics of culture of oral and written speech, abilities and skills of using language in different spheres andcommunication situations, analyze and synthesize various methods, tactics and strategies of verbal and non-verbal communication to achieve mutual understandingdepending on particular communicative situation and in accordance with sociocultural norms of their use, based on cognitive and knowledge skills. 2.To use the methodological principles and strategies of translationin translation activity, theoretical foundations of intercultural communication, international and legal management; theory of foreign and native languages at the professional level; specificity of translation in accordance with the requirements and norms of international and legal law in oral translation process. 3.To demonstrate high level of active possessing inoriginal language and translation language, quick reaction, clear diction, ability to concentrate, noise immunity, mental stability, good physical condition. 4.To acquire legal terminology, ability to correctly and competently arrange translations of legal documents, including translations for notarial affirmation; fulfill protocol functions in accordance with the peculiarities of the diplomatic protocol and etiquette of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign countries. 5.To analyze and identify linguistic and non-linguistic factors of texts' translation within the of professional discourse, while performing pre-translation analysis taking into account the linguistic-cognitive, pragmatic-functional specifics of the source text, model and compare the features of the language units of the country of studied language with features of the native language and other foreign languages, taking into account the standards of translatability. 6.To use the typology of diplomatic documents, types of diplomatic documents of internal and external diplomatic correspondence, requirements produced for diplomatic documentation. 7.To perform translation in international and legal relations sphere: achieve a high level of concentration and ultra-precision; demonstrate psychological stability in conditions of prolonged stress, manage emotions and behavior (translator-neutral broadcaster); using technique of oral speech and achieve smooth reading of the text in accordance with the deployment of the speaker's speech, good diction, correct intonational formulation. 8.To individually examine essential materials, search for information that is necessary for an adequate translation, be able to follow features of the official business style, and also correctly choose and use the translation methods that are necessary for the translation of certain lexical units, and have wide background knowledge in the field of professional discourse. Analyze international relations and processes using methodology of system analysis and usage of theoretical knowledge in the course. 9.among representatives of different cultures in the process of oral translation in order to ensure cooperation and full-fledged dialogue in compliance with international speech etiquette. 10.To acquire knowledge in the field of theory and methodology of linguistics in their practical professional activities; methods of language research; to conduct various types of linguistic and translation analysis, to adapt language and style to the speech of speaker the audience; to distinguish and understand accents and regional variations of the language; to demonstrate the professional level of communicative receptive (reading, listening) and productive (speaking and writing) skills in a foreign language for successful synchronization of the speaker's speech in the process of translation activities. 11.To effectively use technique of translation recording for sequential translation; apply techniques of text compression; overcome psychological and emotional stress in two-way translation; perform probabilistic forecasting in conditions of simultaneous translation; use synchronous equipment, programs of text editors, electronic dictionaries. Train your system memory to increase the amount of stored information. 12.To understand the high social importance of profession, principles of professional ethics, use knowledge of the subject area, rules and norms of translation in professional activities. Topossess ability to reach mutual understanding with representatives of different cultures on basis of awareness, understanding and compliance with universal rules and norms of behavior that make up the international etiquette of communication, as well as establish relationships with representatives of other cultures-to recognize their cultural values, to be tolerant of emerging differences in communication manners, behavioral styles, lifestyle, customs, traditions, etc. 13.To recognize social and moral values of national and world culture in the context of society development, to master ethical principles, legal norms and standards in the field of anti-corruption, life safety and entrepreneurship, to evaluate favorable and harmful factors affecting the environment and determine their consequences, to model basic-level business processes, to apply business communication skills and skills of working with staff.

Al Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) offers 134 bachelor degree programs at 16 faculties, which are among the leaders in the national subject ranking in Kazakhstan. Students can join undergraduate programs in a wide range of disciplines, from the sciences (chemistry, geography, mathematics and physics) through to humanities, law, IR, languages, and journalism. Students can also select from several joint double degree programs with the leading universities from around the world.   The university bachelor degree programs train students to be critical thinkers, well-rounded lifelong learners and future leaders in their specialties. Most of the undergraduate programs of KazNU are accredited by accrediting agencies such as ASIIN, FIBAA, AQ, and ACQUIN.

Undergraduate international students usually study for four years at the individual faculties. Undergraduate study at KazNU includes lectures, seminars and laboratory work carried out in university faculties and departments. KazNU has no quotas for international admissions and around 10 percent of applicants are international students and the number increases every year.

The international admission period runs during the summer for the current academic year. International applicants register at the dedicated website, and prospective students must pass foreign language test in advance.   The application process is broadly the same for international and national students, and the university accepts school qualifications from many different countries.

Tuition fees are currently set by the university at a very competitive level. The tuition fees do not include accommodation or board.

All students find themselves in an innovative educational environment and they have access to the specialized libraries and computer facilities including access to
KazNU’s super-computer as well as to the university technopark, business incubator and startup seed capital provided by the university, businesses and other entities in the country. Every year university students can study in the world’s leading universities within the framework of “Academic mobility” program or join international summer schools.

Al-Farabi KazNU offers 268 full master degrees and 140 full PhD wide range programs which help you facilitate your career progression. The University is the main Higher Education University in preparing masters’ and PhD students. During master degree programs students have a chance to take experience in International Summer Schools and Short Intensive Programs. They funded by Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Kazakhstan. PhD degree students must undergo 2 months international traineeship as a part of their studies. All PhD students can have one local and one international supervisor.

All postgraduate programs of KazNU accredited by Accrediting Degree Programs such as, ASIIN, FIBAA, AQA, ACQUIN. KazNU has drawn up double degree agreements with more than 20 universities and maintains partnerships with around 170 universities worldwide. KazNU embrace a wide range of interrelated disciplines and our programmes of study offer you a high degree of flexibility and choice as well as career relevance.  

Al Farabi KazNU actively involves postgraduate students to work on various innovative projects and programs, including projects conducted jointly with international organizations. For example, in summer 2018 Al Farabi KazNU established the Ban Ki-moon Institute for Sustainable Development by signing MoU with 8 th UN Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-moon and plans to support research projects related to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
