The MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation programme has been carefully developed to be both academically robust and practical, valuing innovation and creativity, enabling students to build up a necessary knowledge base for successful entrepreneurial thinking. The programme is part of the curriculum of the Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Hub within XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang). The MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation programme is designed to stimulate students to acquire an entrepreneurial mindset. The programme enables students to learn how to identify new innovative or entrepreneurial opportunities, assess their potential, identify possible investors and clients, and bring ideas to the market. They learn how to develop and maximize managerial and leadership skills, including managing multi-disciplinary teams in innovative contexts. Students put theory into practice in the programme, either through creating their own business venture, or through working on their innovative project within a business in their chosen track. The MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation programme offers a broad range of pathways to meet diverse students’ interests and needs: Business, Circular Economy, Creative Technology, Enterprise Governance, Innovation and Succession, FinTech, Smart Cities and Technology Transfer Management.

Normally a good first degree (UK 2.1 or international equivalent) in any discipline. Applicants must also submit: a CV and a one-page personal statement. Please provide a personal statement highlighting the following three areas: which of the pathways are you interested in studying and outlining why. It would also be useful for you to indicate your second choice pathway; If you wish to follow the entrepreneur track, outline your potential business idea and how you think the degree programme will benefit you. If you wish to follow the intrapreneur track, please explain how you will benefit from the degree programme within a company; AND highlight how your background and experience make you an ideal candidate. Students who did not study a business or numeracy degree as their first degree may be asked to undertake a short numeracy-based pre-sessional programme.

Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) offers over 30 undergraduate programs, all of which are taught in English. Bachelors graduates receive two degrees once they complete their program: the XJTLU degree from the Chinese Ministry of Education plus a degree from the University of Liverpool. XJTLU students have the option of completing their last two years of study in Liverpool.

XJTLU’s campus community includes over 13,000 on-campus students plus 500 faculty members representing over 50 countries. An additional 2,500 XJTLU students study at the University of Liverpool. All of XJTLU’s international students have the opportunity to study Chinese as part of their degree program.

Over 5,000 foreign-owned and Fortune 500 companies are based in Suzhou Industrial Park including Siemens, KPMG, Alstom, and HSBC. These companies provide XJTLU students with numerous internship opportunities and job positions.
