The MRes Low Carbon Electrical Power and Energy Technology programme provides you with advanced and systematic education and training in the areas of electronic science and technology. Designed in response to the rapid development of electric power and energy technology in China and worldwide, the programme contains modules covering solar converters, wind power systems, energy storage technology and smart grids. There is a strong emphasis on hands-on experience and practical skills development. A 12-month extensive research project is required which leads to submission of a dissertation after students have finished the taught modules. Graduates from this programme are well prepared for roles in research and development, particularly in the area of electrical power and energy.

Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) offers over 30 undergraduate programs, all of which are taught in English. Bachelors graduates receive two degrees once they complete their program: the XJTLU degree from the Chinese Ministry of Education plus a degree from the University of Liverpool. XJTLU students have the option of completing their last two years of study in Liverpool.

XJTLU’s campus community includes over 13,000 on-campus students plus 500 faculty members representing over 50 countries. An additional 2,500 XJTLU students study at the University of Liverpool. All of XJTLU’s international students have the opportunity to study Chinese as part of their degree program.
