Background to the program and subject area:

 

The curricular philosophy and model of Pharm D directed the curriculum to provide knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes and values:


1.    Participate effectively in the manufacturing of safe and effective pharmaceutical products


2.    Safe and effective dispensing of pharmaceutical products


3.    Provision of patient-centered care

 

The undergraduate program curriculum is designed on the basis of credit hours and pre-requisite courses. The duration of the 216 credit hours of the PharmD program conventionally lasts 6 years (12 semesters).

 

The design and the component of the curricula follows the University design and structure where each curricula should include the following elements; a. Preparatory requirements b. University Requirements c. School Requirements d. Specialty requirements which are further divided into Mandatory and Elective Courses. 

 

PharmD program is earned upon the successful completion of:


(0-15) credit hrs of preparatory courses,


18 credit hrs of mandatory University requirements,


9 credit hrs elective University requirements,


34 credit hrs School requirement,


143 mandatory Specialty requirements


12 credit elective Specialty requirements.


The curriculum is flexible by giving the students the chance of choosing certain elective courses in their fifth year based on their own interests.


The curriculum consists of a balanced foundational sciences including:


  • Biomedical sciences
  • Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • Clinical Sciences
  • Administrative/Social/Behavioral sciences

 

Professional experience, including variety of practice experiences acquired throughout the curriculum as a continuum, progressing from the introductory pharmacy practice experiences to the advanced pharmacy practice expe

Admission Requirements

To enroll at the University of Jordan, you need to meet the minimum required GPA for the General Secondary Education Certificate; The required GPA is 70 %

Required documents:

To start the admission process, you first need:   ​
1.  A copy of the passport.

2.  For international students who hold a Jordanian high school certificate (i.e. Tawjehi), you need to provide your Transcript certified from the Jordanian Ministry of Education. 2.1 For International students with a Saudi certificate, you need to get an equivalency from the Ministry of Education in Jordan ( after 2016).

2.2 For international students holding Arabic certificates, you need to have your certificate certified by the Ministry of Education in Jordan.

3.2. For international students holding an international certificate from Jordan (e.g. I.B., SAT, I.G.C.E​, etc.​.), you need to start the equivalency process at the Jordanian Ministry of education (https://apps.moe.gov.jo/apps/certificate/).

4.2. For international students holding an international certificate (e.g. I.B., SAT, I.G.C.E., etc.​.),​​ from Arab countries,  you need to start the equivalency process at the Jordanian  Ministry of education (https://apps.moe.gov.jo/apps/certificate/) or at the Ministry of education in your country showing the average and the branch.

5.2.  For international students holding an international certificate (e.g. I.B., SAT, I.G.C.E., etc..), from non-Arab countries, you need to start the equivalency process at the Jordanian Ministry of education​ (https://apps.moe.gov.jo/apps/certificate/).

(Important note: If a student is unable to provide the university with the equivalency of the certificate before arriving to Jordan, they can do this process during the first semester).
