About the program and its main topics


The Ph.D. program in Psychological and Educational Counseling was established at the beginning of the academic year 2000/2001, and the study plan of the program consists of 54 credit hours divided into (18) hours of compulsory subjects and (18) hours of elective subjects, and it is required to pass and pass the cognitive proficiency exam as it is one of the courses of the program (18) hours for the university thesis, and the study subjects are distributed between compulsory and elective and (400) hours of field training that fall under the supervision of the teacher, and the main topics of the program are based on:  Supervision in counseling and the principles of psychological and educational measurement also deal with theory and practice in counseling, psychotherapy, and methods of communication in counseling, and this program is explained in the courses offered through it to counsel special groups, as well as mental disorders and their diagnosis, and at the end of the specialization subjects, the student is expected to complete field training in counseling in the final semester of graduation.

2.    Prepare professional supervisors who are able to provide high-quality specialized supervisory services.   Responding to the needs of the local and Arab community to provide specialized mentors and supervisors.


3.    Contributing to the dissemination of modern scientific knowledge about psychological counseling, its fields and applications.


4.    Contributing to the development of psychological counseling programs in centers, institutions, and schools that provide counseling services in the local and Arab community.

First: This plan adheres to the instructions of the general framework for graduate programs.

Second: The specializations that can be accepted in this program according to the following priorities:
A. Master's degree in Psychological and Educational Counseling and all its specializations, which include: Rehabilitation Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Family and Marital Counseling, Community Counseling, School Counseling, Career Counseling, Elderly Counseling, and Addiction Counseling.

B. Master of Clinical Psychology

Please note that applicants who have graduated from an English-speaking country are exempt from the English exam requirement.
