The MSc in Implant Dentistry is an intensive clinical, academic and research programme offered to dentists with little or no experience in Implantology.

On successful completion of this programme:

You will be able to analyse new insights into current problems in your field of study, referring to your systematic understanding of knowledge You will be able to assess, plan and execute both the surgical and restorative aspects of dental implant treatment in straight forward cases. You will be able to identify and differentiate between low and high risk dental implant cases. You will be able to formulate and prescribe an appropriate implant maintenance plan in relation to patient risk profile. You will be able to recognise and manage complications in dental implantology. You will be able to review procedures and techniques for more advanced implantology cases.

Students take modules to the value of 60 credits for each year of study totalling 180 credits for the three years.

The programme consists of six core modules (120 credits) and a dissertation (60 credits). All modules are compulsory.

Applicants must possess an approved undergraduate dental qualification (i.e. BDS, or equivalent from a recognised institution) and have a minimum of one year clinical experience post-qualification. This programme will be open to GDC registered dentists due to the clinical nature of treating patients in the UK. Applicants must have full and current registration with the UK General Dental Council and be in dental practice with access to patients for the duration of the programme.
