The aim of the study programme "Advanced Mineral Resources Development" is to acquire knowledge and competences for the development of sustainable and environmentally compatible methods in mining and mining rehabilitation under business management aspects.
The programme is based on international studies at three of the nine partner universities in the master's programme.
Advanced Mineral Resources Development provides students with knowledge and skills for independent scientific work in the field of environmentally friendly mining and mining rehabilitation from a business management perspective. The program combines natural sciences, engineering and economics. Studying at the three partner universities promotes the acquisition of intercultural competence, a key qualification for management personnel in globally active raw materials companies.
With the master's thesis, students demonstrate that they are able to collect relevant information on their subject area, develop it creatively and thereby arrive at new insights. Their scientific competencies enable them to assume leadership responsibilities. Students will be motivated to critically examine methods and procedures in the field. They should be aware of the responsibility they have through their knowledge and activities to contribute to addressing societal and global human problems from the perspective of sustainability and environmental impact.
All students of the programme complete the first semester at the University of Leoben, the second semester at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, and the third and fourth semester at one of the partner universities.
