Sound Engineering of Cultural and Artistic Performances

While studying at the university students learn sound engineering skills, master sound editing and video scoring techniques. After the graduation young professionals work in the audio and visual art sphere, including the preparation of big concerts, spectacular shows, as well as studio recording and producing.


Theory

During the course students study the following liberal arts disciplines: history, history of Russian and foreign theatre, history of Russian and foreign literature, history of the cinema, music, philosophy, aesthetics, art history and many others.

Practice

Students can do practical training at the major Moscow theatres, concert halls, on television.

Language

Foreign students study Russian language for 5 years, therefore getting a good knowledge of the Russian language as a bonus.

Diploma

After they write their graduation thesis they get the state diploma.

GITIS offers over 17 undergraduate programs covering more than 50 subjects in Ballet Master Art, Ballet Pedagogy, History and Theory of Theatre and Criticism, Performance Art Producer. Training for each subject is 4-5 years.

GITIS has Specialist Degree in the following courses: Dramatic Theatre and Cinema Actor, Musical Theatre Actor, Variety Theatre Actor, Drama Director, Musical Theatre Director, Circus Director, Variety Theatre Director, Puppet Theatre Director, Theatre Designer, Theatre Costume Designer, Puppet Theatre Designer, Sound Engineering, Performance Art Produce. Training for these subjects is 4 or 5 years.

Documentation for prospective students in Acting, Directing, Musical Theater and Variety Theater will only be provided following a successful audition.

Tuition at GITIS at undergraduate level is US$10,000 per year. International students can receive Russian funding provided by Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russian Ministry of Education.
