Students take part in theatre festivals in Russia and abroad, discuss performances with directors and actors and therefore receive an excellent liberal arts education. Upon completion of the 4-year Bachelor’s programme, students can continue their education on the 2-year Master’s programme. Graduates become specialists in theatre history and theory, theatre critics, editors on TV and radio, as well as in magazines and newspapers.
Theory Students obtain a full course of liberal arts education, including such disciplines as history, history of Russian and foreign theatre, history of Russian and foreign literature, history of the cinema, music, philosophy, pedagogics and psychology, history of critics, drama theory and many others.
Practice During their course of study they also participate in theatrical seminars, conferences on the problems of traditional and modern theatre, write reviews and do practical training in the major Moscow theatres and mass media.
Language As long as it’s a theoretical faculty and students need to write and communicate in Russian, they also obtain a good knowledge of the Russian language as a bonus.
Diploma After students write their graduation thesis, they get the state diploma.
