Major in accounting to pursue a career auditing financial statements, designing accounting information systems, doing tax preparation work, rooting out fraud, and more.

Our Accounting students tackle an academic plan that includes real-world learning with public accounting firms, nonprofits, and government agencies. Advanced coursework explores tax, forensic, and international accounting.

As an Accounting major you can apply as early as sophomore year for the Accounting Pathway Program. This program allows qualified students to enter directly into our one-year master’s in accounting program and to become CPA (Certified Public Accountant)-exam ready.

Further boost your college experience by joining the Purdue Accounting Association and getting involved with the university’s chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
