The reason why the areas of expertise of physical therapists are expanding is that there have been increased cases of neurological disorders due to expansive musculoskeletal system disorders and aging, and especially, because of the welfare policy of a developed country against aging, the increased level of chronic diseases such as adult diseases, diabetes, cancers, and hypertension, an extended average life expectancy, a rise in the aging population, and increased cases of industrial accidents and traffic accidents, it is expected that the demand for physical therapists will continue to rise. Thus, it is essential for physical therapy to make further developments. Physical therapy is a specialized field in medical science that provides evaluation, treatment, and education for recovering the damaged functions or minimizing impairment by applying exercise treatment or physical factors (manual therapy, water, ray, electricity, heat, etc.) to people who are disabled due to muscular-skeletal diseases, neurological disorders, or other diseases, accidents, or innate disorders. Due to the recent solid medical and scientific evidence for orthopedic manipulation therapy, it has been making significant developments and gained great popularity in the clinical field.
