Graduates may carry out professional activities in other fields and (or) spheres of professional activity, provided that the level of their education and acquired competencies correspond to the requirements for the qualification of an employee.
The objects of professional activity of specialists are: agricultural, domestic, laboratory, exotic, wild and commercial animals, birds, bees, fish, hydrobionts and other objects of marine and river fisheries, cell cultures, microbiological and viral strains, raw materials and finished products of animal and plant origin, beekeeping products, fodder and feed additives, places of their preparation and storage, medicines and biological preparations, technological lines for the production of preparations, products and forages, premises for animal housing, pastures, water bodies, slaughterhouses, animal burial grounds, transport means for the transportation of animals, products of animal and plant origin, as well as enterprises for the production, processing, storage, sale of food products and forages of animal and plant origin.
Tasks of professional activity of graduates. Specialist in the direction 610001 - Veterinary Medicine should solve the following professional tasks in accordance with the types of professional activities and professional standards (if any):
in the field of medical activity:
- prevention, diagnosis of diseases of various etiologies and treatment of animals;
in the field of expert-control activity:
- organization and carrying out of expert examination and control of technological processes, buildings and structures for keeping animals, and technological operations for processing raw materials of animal and plant origin;
- veterinary and sanitary control of products and raw materials of animal and plant origin, beekeeping products , bee products and aquatic fisheries;
- organization and control of the transportation of animals, raw materials, products of
of animal and plant origin, beekeeping and aquatic products;
- protection of the population from diseases common to humans and animals;
- protection of the territories of the Kyrgyz Republic from the introduction of contagious diseases from other countries;
in the field of organizational and management activities:
- leadership of a professional team carrying out medical and expert and control activities;

- evaluation and forecasting of economic development of the veterinary service;
- prospective planning of work of veterinary and production units;

- organization of control of technological processes for production, processing, storage, transportation and sale of products of animal and plant origin;
- effective use of medicinal raw materials, pharmaceuticals, biologically active additives;
- participation in the development of new methods, methods and techniques of manufacturing and quality control of medicinal products;
in the field of design and advisory and educational activities:
- participation in the development of projects for the construction of livestock complexes, technological lines for the processing of livestock products and their expertise according to veterinary, sanitary and hygienic requirements;
- consulting activities in the field of prevention, diagnostics of diseases and treatment of animal diseases, veterinary and sanitary expertise, forensic veterinary expertise, organization of veterinary business and veterinary entrepreneurship;
- training and retraining of specialists in veterinary, zootechnical and biological profile;
- socio-cultural and hygienic education of animal owners and members of their families;
in the field of research activities:
- improvement of scientific research methodology, development and introduction into the production of innovative technologies in the field of veterinary medicine and animal husbandry;
- collection of scientific information, preparation of reviews, annotations, preparation of abstracts and reports, bibliographies, analysis of information on research objects, participation in scientific discussions and procedures of defense of scientific works of different levels, presentation of reports and communications on the subject of research, dissemination and popularization of professional knowledge, educational work with students, analysis of the state and dynamics of objects of activity, development of plans, programs and methods of research, analysis of their results.
Graduates of higher education institutions who have fully mastered the basic educational program of higher professional education in this specialty and successfully passed the state final attestation in accordance with the established procedure are awarded a diploma of higher professional education with the qualification "Veterinary Doctor".
The normative period of mastering the basic educational program of higher professional education in the specialty 610001 - Veterinary Medicine in full-time education on the basis of secondary general or secondary vocational education is not less than 5 years.
Persons who have secondary vocational education of the relevant profile or higher vocational education, are entitled to master the basic educational program of higher vocational education on training specialty on accelerated programs. Term of study at implementation of accelerated programs is determined by the results of re-certification (re-crediting) fully or partially of the results of training on individual disciplines (modules) and (or) individual practices, mastered (passed) by the student when receiving secondary vocational education and (or) higher education under another educational program.
When studying on an individual curriculum of persons with disabilities, the university has the right to extend the term compared to the term established for the appropriate form of education.
The total labor intensity of mastering the basic educational program of higher professional education of specialty training is equal to not less than 300 credits.

Master's programs at the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K.I. Skryabin (KNAU) offer students the opportunity to gain deeper knowledge and skills in agriculture, engineering, land management, water resources management, agronomy, ecology, agro-processing, economics and other related fields.
