Read more advanced courses in different areas of physical and applied sciences and to explore new avenues to basic, applied as well as advanced research work. The Department is presently running M.Sc, M Phil., & Ph. D Degree Program with specialization in various disciplines. Both the theoretical courses and the quality research work are being designed to maintain the international standard with a view to opening opportunities for the students who desire to earn higher degrees for building up their successful careers in the field of Physics or relevant areas. For the degree of M Sc. (Phy.), a student must earn a minimum of 36 credit hours of which 18 credit hours shall be assigned for a thesis. The academic year of M Sc. (Phy.) program will be 1.5 (one and half) years and generally not more than 5 (five) years. A student must earn a minimum of 36 credit hours of which 18 credit hours shall be assigned for a Thesis. A full-time student must register a minimum of 12 (twelve) credit hours and a maximum of 15 (fifteen) credit hours per semester. A part-time student may be allowed to register a maximum of 9 (nine) credit hours in a semester. To be graduated from the department, all the courses they take must have a minimum score of 2.5 and there is a requirement to submit a thesis. Our graduate students become academicians using the research laboratory infrastructure and knowledge in the consultancy of our faculty members within the scope of studies on thesis subject and national and international project works of different qualities. The research laboratories have spatial and scientific infrastructure dedicated to the work of the postgraduate Physics program in the faculty of science and engineering are equipped with the latest technology needed to reach their targets in short time and with high quality results. In the Physics department, high quality scientific research are carried out in various fields such as nanotechnology, semiconductor devices and optoelectronics applications, high energy and plasma technology, magnetic and composite type materials, computational neuroscience etc. With the certificates they receive from the postgraduate programs, our graduates work as physics teachers in public institutions, private and foundation schools and private sector physicists. Our graduates can work as a specialist in various private sector and public institutions in the case of obtaining a certificate. After having completed the graduate program in medical physics, they can also work as an expert in health institutions. Read less
