the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University (CU) has collaborated with the Sirindhorn International Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering (TGGS), King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), and the Rheinisch-Westfaelische Technische Hochschule (RWTH), Aachen University, Germany to develop the Master Program in Railway Vehicles and Infrastructure Engineering (RVIE).  
RVIE is a three-year, multidisciplinary, international program that focuses on the engineering aspects of design and research and development of the complete rail systems including the rail vehicles and rail infrastructure.  Two areas of concentrations are offered:
  1. Railway Vehicles Engineering, and
  2. Railway Infrastructure Engineering.
The program aims to produce engineers at a master’s degree level, with the knowledge and competencies of the German standards.  Our graduates will be able to disseminate modern know-how and technology, possess problem-solving capabilities, as well as develop research and innovation to support the country’s railway industry. They will also be lifelong learners and multidisciplinary team players who can work with people from all walks of life and possess creativity while adjusting well to the everchanging atmosphere of the industry, vis a vis the socioeconomic and political climates, thus becoming valuable human resources for the country’s sustainable development.

Chulalongkorn University welcomes international applicants (non-holders of a Thai passport) for undergraduate admission to international programs.  Currently, 19 undergraduate programs are offered in English. (See https://www.chula.ac.th/en/academics/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/) There are two admission rounds, Early Admissions and Admissions. The application period is from December to February. (Applicants should note the application dates for each program.)
