Master of Clinical Psychology

Applicants must possess:

  • personal suitability to undertake professional practice as a psychologist
  • a four-year APAC-accredited qualification in psychology at Honours 2A level or better (or an equivalent qualification)
  • full registration as a psychologist

Additional admission criteria

Applicants must provide the following:

  1. evidence of general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA)
  2. a completed Master of Clinical Psychology Supplementary Application Form
  3. references from two professional and two academic referees, submitted via the online National Psychology Reference System

Please note that the National Psychology Reference system is now used by all Australian Universities. To be able to use the system, you will need to have an active subscription. The cost is $25 and can be paid for through the My Account section in the payment tab.  For full details, please refer to the interactive user guide for students, referees and administration users and the Psychological Reference Guide.

While the university encourages applicants to make every effort to obtain the required number of referee reports, it recognises that some applicants may have difficulty arranging two academic referees. These applicants are advised to explain in a covering letter attached to their application the circumstances that prevented them from meeting this requirement. In these circumstances, applicants should provide additional professional referee reports.

Selection interview

The selection committee will contact the most competitive applicants  for a telephone interview. This is the final stage in the selection process, and applicants who are selected for interview will receive further information in advance of the interview. A formal offer of a place in the course may follow shortly after a successful interview.
