The Bachelor of Science (Extended) is a degree for talented Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians who may not meet the regular Bachelor of Science entry requirements. This four-year course is your first step towards a dream career in science or technology. It can take you into a hospital, down a mine, behind the controls of a particle accelerator, out onto a coral reef or into hundreds of other careers and fields. You’ll have access to the full range of subject choices and opportunities within the Bachelor of Science, plus built-in support and academic skills development to ensure your success. In your degree, you’ll have the choice of more than 40 majors, covering all fields of science. If you already know what you want to study, you can start shaping your career right away. If you’re not sure and have interests in many areas, you can begin by leaving your options open while you explore. A Mathematics and Statistics major will provide essential knowledge and transferable skills for students entering careers or research in the following areas: General sciences, Agriculture and environmental sciences, Banking, Finance and Commerce, Engineering, Government, Education, Industry, e.g. logistics/project manager, market research consultant, IT and computing, and Medicine.
