The MRes degree is presently offered by a number of UK universities and is well promoted by the research councils such as the EPRSC. The programme's main aim is to empower design researchers with multidisciplinary knowledge and skills so that they can conduct innovative design solutions to the problems faced by modern society. It is also the answer to the governments call in promoting the development of economics and the well-being of the whole society using the power of innovation and creative ideas. This programme aims to meet the demands of employers for advanced skills in these areas.
Compared to MSc programmes, more emphasis is placed on research, especially for students wishing to progress to the PhD degree programme to pursue an academic or industrial career. The doctoral studies that follow these MRes programmes could be undertaken here in China (Ningbo campus) or abroad.
Depending on the availability of teaching resources and demands in future, this MRes programme may introduce optional modules to reflect the progress and state-of-the-art advances in Innovative Design, Product Design and Manufacturing Engineering, such as computer science, human factors and ergonomics, advanced engineering, etc.

Exam Scores
Course requirements - Graduates of Bachelor of Engineering or Science with Upper Second Class (or equivalent) or above.
Relevant disciplines include Product Design and Manufacture, Manufacture Engineering, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, and other related engineering backgrounds subject to having completed suitable modules
Language requirements: IELTS 6.0 (no less than 5.5 in each element).
