UNSW recognises that many students have professional experience or relevant previous studies. If you have worked in a relevant industry or have relevant previous study experience, you may be eligible for credit points that would enable you to complete this program in 1 year, 1.7 years, or 2 years. General entry requirements for each option are outlined below. Please consult individual specialisations for further details.

One Year Program

You will need one of the following:

  • Four-year Bachelor of Engineering degree from Australia or accredited under the Washington Accord in one of the cognate disciplines below with a 65% GPA.*
  • Four-year Bachelor of Engineering degree not accredited under the Washington Accord in one of the cognate disciplines below with a 65% GPA* including: Final year capstone design or research project; A project management course; Three years of work experience in a relevant professional engineering role
1.7 Year Program

You will need one of the following:

  • Four-year Bachelor of Engineering degree not accredited under the Washington Accord in one of the cognate disciplines below with a 65% GPA* including: A final year capstone design or research project; A project management course

Two Year Program

You will need:

  • Four-year Bachelor of Engineering degree from Australia or accredited under the Washington Accord in any discipline with a 65% GPA.*
  • Students with this background may still be assessed for advanced standing on a case by case basis.
*Please note that Chinese degrees from non-211 universities will require a 70% GPA.
