The master'degree course in Veterinary Biotechnology Sciences, taught in italian, aims to provide the graduate with theoretical, methodological and applicative knowledge as well as acquire understanding, independent judgment, communication skills and learning skills. These skills can be applied in health research and in other interdisciplinary socio-economic areas, such as nutrition and food safety, animal pathology, diagnostics, veterinary microbiology and immunology, infectious and parasitic diseases, zoonoses, veterinary pharmacology and toxicology, production and reproduction., genetic improvement and protection of biodiversity.
Graduates in Veterinary Biotechnological Sciences will be able to:
develop cell models and animal models in the biomedical field for scientific and technological research and animal production and reproduction;
use diagnostic techniques in veterinary medicine, conservation of animal biodiversity also through targeted technologies of genetic selection, protection of human health through the control of the healthiness of foods of animal origin and the control of the spread of zoonotic animal diseases;
know the regulations relating to bioethics and evaluate the ethical and social impact of scientific innovations resulting from biotechnological research not only in the animal field;
know management and marketing aspects related to research and development activities in the pharmaceutical industry and in the food production and processing industry for humans and animals;
work for the design and conduct of studies and research in the specific sectors of veterinary biotechnology and in related study and research sectors not specifically related to the animal world, assuming project and structure responsibility;
communicate the innovative knowledge acquired and its implications effectively and without ambiguity of interpretation;
be able to use, in written and oral form, the English language as well as Italian, in the activity of study, research and communication, using the appropriate disciplinary lexicons.
