The Bachelor of Arts in Economics major equips students in the College of Arts & Sciences with a firm understanding of economic theory and its application to a wide range of modern economic issues, such as financial crises, development and inclusive growth, the environment, healthcare, the labor markets, international trade and finance, and monetary and fiscal policy.  Students will also learn about the economic situation and prospects in different regions, including the Middle East, China, Latin America, and the United States. With a choice of tracks in either Political Economy or Quantitative Economics, the program provides excellent preparation for careers in business, government, and international agencies, or graduate study in the social sciences.
