Program Description: The Integrated Communication (IC) program at the University of Charleston provides students with a comprehensive education in the five main professional areas of the communication field. The IC program provides students with a foundation in communication studies while integrating the professional areas through course work and hands on experience outside of the classroom in public relations, graphic design, marketing, advertising, and event management. Program Mission: The mission of the Integrated Communication program is to prepare graduates for a creative and progressive career in a variety of communication settings and to contribute to the profession and the community through service and scholarship. Program Outcomes: The graduate will use communication theory and principles to design and/or evaluate oral, written or visual communication in a variety of professional settings. The graduate will use current technologies to design and/or evaluate oral, written or visual communication for a variety of professional settings. The graduate will use an array of methods and tools to design and/or evaluate an event or campaign in the field of communication.
