Semester 3 begins with a one-week introductory course allowing students to acquire basic medical vocabulary. It continues  through fundamental lessons introducing essential scientific knowledge in medical physics , namely: radiation-matter interactions, the physical bases of medical imaging, the processing of medical images and the resulting quantification, the physics of radiotherapy, and the mathematical bases of Monte-Carlo simulations. The overall objective of these teaching units is to make the link between theoretical bases and applications and to make students acquire the transversal skills necessary for their future professional integration, namely scientific rigor, physical sense (formulation of a problem, identification of key parameters, understanding of physical phenomena, etc.), and work organization. In these units, several works are to be carried out in groups, enhancing their relationship skills. In addition, practical work is dedicated to the development of their computer and digital skills (programming, Monte-Carlo modeling). Two opening teaching units focused on the themes of radiobiology and radiation protection close semester 3.
In semester 4, a teaching unit is devoted to the methodology of scientific research. This UE allows students to develop their skills in written and oral communication, and their fluency in professional English. 3 days are also devoted to the mathematical bases of artificial intelligence, which is gaining momentum in the field of medicine today. Finally, completing a 6-month internship allows students to increase their autonomy in finding an internship, their ease in making professional contacts, their ability to work in a team and to manage a autonomous way.
