Tackling diverse aspects of sustainability, the Master in Sustainable Development and Global Governance @ UC3M (MASUS) offers a vanguard multidisciplinary training in the analysis of problems related to sustainable development and global governance. Due to its flexible structure and breadth of elective courses, it facilitates specialization in various areas of sustainability, according to students' individual interests.
MASUS offers conceptual and methodological training in different areas of sustainable development based on four extensive modules: (1) Introduction to sustainability; (2) socioeconomic sustainability, focused on issues like hunger, poverty, inequality, gender, and sustainable work; (3) environmental sustainability covering areas such as climate change, biodiversity, ecosystems, and environmental impact analysis; (4) global governance that analyzes ‘the tragedy of the commons’, globalization, immigration and the geopolitics of natural resources, among other issues.
This new master program goes beyond knowledge about complex challenges of sustainability. Embracing a hands-on approach, it equips students with necessary skills to generate evidence-based comprehensive solutions in addressing the challenges of sustainability.
