The PhD of Science at the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Materials and Tissue Engineering (GIBMTE) of the College of Biomedical Engineering provides a total of xxx credits. All classes are given in English. The Semester starts In September and the students are expected to graduate within 3 or 4 years. Each year the student are requested to present their PhD progress report in front of a committee expected to judge the progress of the research studies and provide recommendations for the completion of the PhD thesis. Students are guided by a main advisor and a co-advisor. Our teaching and research philosophy is to keep a translational prospect to our research work. The advisory tandem is therefore typically comprised of a Professor with a PhD and research background, and a professor with a clinical profile understanding patients’ needs and novel developments in tissue engineering, treatments, and regenerative medicine. We also much support co-advisorship with a Foreign specialists providing a global vision of the research in the biomedical engineering field.

  • Students with a MSc degree in biology, medicine, pharmacy, biomedical engineering, or materials-related fields can apply the PhD degree at GIBMTE.
  • As in most Graduate Institutes of TMU, minimal command of the English language is recommended.
  • As in most Graduate Institutes of TMU, admitted students shall be required to demonstrate a proof of their proficiency in English. A minimum TOEIC test score of  750, or equivalent, is required for PhD graduation.
