The Master in Applied Foreign Languages: Speciality Management and International Business teaches students the concepts and techniques relevant to international business, whilst enabling them to learn extensive knowledge of core business strategies within a global economic context by understanding crucial management concepts in different fields.

This degree has several objectives. Firstly, students will learn various international economics concepts, and understand the impact of how current issues influence international business, as well as the tools to make structured management decisions while factoring in various cultural, financial, commercial, social and political parameters.

Additionally, students will refine their knowledge of the techniques and methodologies of applied research, as well as fundamental IT tools and their application in a business context. In parallel, students will develop the requisite managerial and critical thinking skills and knowledge needed in international and cross-cultural environments, learning how to understand human and organisational behaviour, as well as the concepts of international corporate strategy.

Thirdly, students will gain a deeper understanding of multicultural environments by undertaking courses in languages and civilisations, as well as cross-cultural management. Students will enhance their English skills and they will learn one or two additional foreign languages, including French, Spanish, or Arabic from beginner to advanced levels, all within the goal of catering to today’s multi-lingual business environments.

This globally recognised degree opens the doors to further study, as well as successful international careers in international business.

There are abundant rewarding career opportunities on a regional and global scale for our graduates. Given the rapid development of the region and the emirate of Abu Dhabi in particular, career prospects are plentiful for professionals with multilingual skills. Students can pursue careers as analysts in leading global consultancy firms, or even expand their own businesses into different markets. Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi offers 10+ undergraduate bachelor programmes covering Humanities, Sciences, Languages, Social sciences, and law delivered by permanent faculty based in Abu Dhabi and Visiting professors. All programmes follow the academic curricula defined in Paris, except for the bachelors specific to the Abu Dhabi campus. However, all programmes offer high quality education and answer the European academic standards. Graduates receive a Parisian bachelor’s degree issued by Sorbonne University in the fields of Humanities and Sciences and by University of Paris in the fields of Law and Economics.

·         For programmes taught in French and for students who are not fluent in French, they can apply for the   Foundation Year in Intensive French .

·         For programmes taught in English, students must show proof of proficiency of the teaching language. Please refer to the brochure of each programme for more information.

Sorbonne Abu Dhabi offers 15+ masters programmes. Our degree programmes cover 18 (3 semesters) to 24 months (4 semesters) and are taught in the evening and/or on weekends, in consideration of students who intend to combine their studies with work. Our programmes are designed to promote practical learning experience through internships. All postgraduate degree programmes are taught in English, except for the Teaching French as a Foreign Language degree.
