Studying a bachelor's degree at Sirte University aims to help students obtain comprehensive knowledge about a subject or specialty.

Sirte University operates on a semester system, where the academic year is divided into two semesters, for theoretical faculties, while for practical faculties such as human medicine, dentistry, engineering, and science, they have study systems and other divisions that differ from this. The academic year at Sirte University usually begins in September and ends in July every year.


The university student will be granted the academic degree after passing the requirements for graduation from the specialized and general courses in one specialty, with no less than 120 one hundred and twenty academic units. The maximum number of units for each scientific department is determined accordingly. Based on a proposal from the relevant scientific department, the approval of the Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs, and the approval of the University President, the courses will be distributed over a number of years.


The academic system at undergraduate level follows varies from one faculty to another according to the nature of the scientific specialization, and the duration of study in the university’s facilities is as follows: Faculties with a four-year study period: Arts, Economics, Education, Science, Agricultural Sciences, Medical Technology, and Information Technology. Faculties with a five-year study period: Engineering, Dentistry. Faculties with a duration of study of six years: Faculty of Human Medicine. A period of one year of internship is added for graduates of various types of medical colleges in accordance with their internal regulations.

The master's degree at Sirte University is a stage of postgraduate studies that follows obtaining a bachelor's degree. Applicants for the master's degree must possess advanced information and knowledge about the specialty to be studied, and be able to transfer this knowledge to its applied context, and possess critical and analytical skills in The field of specialization to be studied, and the primary goal of studying for a master’s degree revolves around the student’s acquisition of the necessary skills and knowledge that qualify him to conduct independent research in his field of specialization.

Studying a master’s degree at the Sirte University includes high-level courses and training in research methods and extrapolation of results. It ends with the performance of a thesis accepted by the examination committee. The student is not awarded the degree until he successfully performs the final examinations. The duration of study may not be less than two years - with the exception of the master’s degree, which is preceded by preparatory studies or preceded by certain diploma studies.
