Rawalpindi Medical College (RMC) has been upgraded from college to university i.e. Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) in May 2017 by Government of Punjab. Rawalpindi Medical University is actively involved in not only the undergraduate teaching of MBBS students, but also the training and clinical teaching of

2. M.S
3. M.D
4. FCPS & MCPS 
5. post-graduate trainees in various disciplines.

A total of about 9738 students have graduated from this institution to date. These also include more than 700 foreign nationals from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Nepal, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Dutch and Indian Occupied Kashmir.

There are many Rawalians working in UK, USA, Australia, Canada, South Africa, Gulf and Far eastern countries.

RMU graduates not only obtained degrees but did this with flair and distinction.

Our students have topped the University more than 31 times and secured distinctions in various subjects more than 1126 times. The institution enjoys full recognition by Medical Councils of various countries, Royal Colleges of UK, College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan and the World Health Organization.

Apart from that, Rawalpindi Medical University, Rawalpindi Pakistan  is also providing teaching facilities to nursing and Allied Health Sciences students by virtue of its large, well-qualified & experienced faculty, and the attached hospitals for hands-on training of clinical sciences.

Total Number of MBBS Students enrolled at present are 1716 and total Number of Postgraduate Students at present in different programs are 707 in addition to Allied Health Sciences and Nursing Students. Rawalpindi Medical University has two teaching blocks having 02 libraries for the students at the New Teaching Block and the Old Teaching Block respectively.

The libraries are furnished with more than 25,000 quality books from both renowned International & national publishers on variety of academic & non-academic subjects. Rawalpindi Medical University is fully determined to follow and implementing the concept of Smart Education through Smart Universities.
