The Doctorate in the History of the UCA promotes a humanist, integral and comprehensive reading of the past of the man in society, which considers its incidence in the present time through the consideration of the evidences of this past. At the same time, it recognizes the gravitation of the historical context in what is inserted by the subject-researcher, and requires a rigorous application of the specific method of the discipline. It is inserted as a project in an academic field that requires the critical analysis of clearly delimited research problems, the valuation of the humanist perspective and the recognition of a similar relevance to the different specific areas that the discipline possesses. A face-to-face modality is offered under it since its epistemological conception promotes an active academic interaction, which favors bonds and direct exchanges in the relationship of doctoral students, teachers and directors of thesis works.

Graduates of UCA and different Universities officially recognized in the country, with the title of Bachelor or University degree in History, corresponding to a career of four (4) years of minimum duration. University graduates from social or humanistic disciplines. In this case, the Doctorate Commission will analyze the background of each candidate and establish the fulfillment of complementary requirements (seminars, courses, etc.). Graduates from foreign universities, who believe they have attended higher studies equivalent to them in their respective careers in Argentina. They must believe in the knowledge and competence of the Spanish language in both oral and written terms.
