The Graduate Institute of Electronics Engineering (GIEE) was established on August 1st, 2001. The mission of GIEE is to foster cutting-edge research and to cultivate top R&D talent for the semiconductor industry. At its inception, GIEE encompassed two major research tracks, Integrated Circuits and Systems (ICS) and Solid-State Electronics. In the ICS track, the faculty was committed to research in pioneering communication and multimedia systems as well as innovative circuit-design techniques. In the Solid-State Electronics track, effort was primarily focused on the research and development of various semiconductor and optoelectronic devices, advanced semiconductor process technology, etc.
