During the course, students can expect to explore various topics such as urban policy, climate change adaptation and resilience, ecosystem services, nature-based solutions, urban design theory and its implications, transport planning, smart cities, and climate change. They will also develop skills in GIS mapping, R-Studio, design thinking, and system thinking, among others, enabling them to tackle urban design challenges effectively.
To enrol in the urban design program, applicants should have an Australian bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as architecture or landscape architecture. Additionally, a Design Project Portfolio showcasing excellent design and visual communication skills, proficiency in computer-aided design software, and computer literacy is required.
With over half of the world's population already living in urban areas and this number projected to increase to two-thirds by 2050, pursuing a Master's degree in Urban Design has never been more crucial.
