LMU's Civil Engineering program helps students understand how to plan, analyze, design, and oversee the construction of a wide variety of public and private engineering projects. Students learn how to apply scientific principles to evaluate the technical, economic and environmental feasibility of vital projects ranging from roads and highways to airports, mass transit systems to treatment plants, and drainage/flood control systems. Graduate students can choose from two specialized tracks: environmental engineering or water resources. Students also have the option to pursue career-boosting, three-course certificates in several different areas or a Master's degree in Environmental Science focused on sustainable management and environmental protection from local to global scales.

All applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science degree or higher-level degree and have successfully completed the following courses:

  • Calculus, at least one year of college-level
  • General Chemistry, at least one college-level course
  • Life and physical science totaling at least four college-level courses, which could include biology, chemistry, environmental science, or physics.
